Default 94 civic cx - How to remove lower ball joints?

I've tried the press as suggested by the auto part store and can't figure it out. How do I remove these?

This and ask for the Honda specific adapter kit. It'll take longer to drive to Autozone and back then it will take you to remove/replace your ball joints.

Did you try pressing those out 'top to bottom?'

If so, they need to be pressed from the 'bottom to top'

It's a tapered joint, it can only go one way.

I got the C-clamp and the Honda adapters and worked with it for about an hour and a half last night and made no progress.

You push the ball joint out from the bottom. The adapter is used to push the ball joint into the little cup that you form using the kit that you rented in addition to the big c clamp.

AutoZone has an electric impact they use to remove alternator pulleys. I've had customers bring in their spindle and I've used the electric impact in the store to push the ball joint out. If you're using hand tools it will take a while but you should notice a gap forming.

It is easiest to do with the knuckle removed from the car

So if you don't know anyone who has an electric impact you can take your spindle and ball joint with the tools into the store and politely ask to borrow their electric impact gun

It was after 11 pm when I started and didn't want to **** off the crabby old lady next door so I didn't use my impact. I get off early today and will try it with my impact and see how that works, if not I'll use a stick of dynamite cause this car is **** in me off.

BFH a couple good hits will do the trick. I find it's easier with a hammer, not to mention faster.

There's a guide somewhere here on HT, I swear I saw it....You also need to make sure you give the balljoint enough space to be pushed up.
