Icon4 D16Y8 into 2000 civic lx

Hello everyone! I'm preparing to do my b16y7 swap to a b16y8. I have both complete cars. The y8 is coming out of a 98 civic ex and the y7 is in a 2000 civic lx. When I bought the lx I was looking forward to a straight forward swap. Stupid me I would loose vtec. My general understanding is that if I swap the motor (y8) into the 2000 I'd need to use the y8 wiring harness and ECU. Which doesn't sound like too much of a pain except how would I swap ECU's. The whole point in swapping was to keep generally the same stats in a much better looking body. As this is my daily I'm also trying to be prepared for everything as I approach. Also would the difference in throttle placement from the y7 to the y8 be a problem due to length of the throttle cable? All feedback is much appreciated!
