So you're looking to swap in a D16Y8 in place of your Y7? Or are you asking how to transform your 106hp Y7 into the 125hp beast Y8?
The blocks are pretty much identical, the Y8 head, vtec solenoid, ecu, and wires for vtec are needed. I'd recommend using the Y8 intake manifold as well, it's dubbed the "Type R" of D-series manifolds - this will involve some wiring with sensors and maybe IACV swap, I'm not certain.

i just wanna swap the head and turn my y7 to a y8 for a lil more power. notthing crazy and i know i'm not going to get any b-series powers.

Depends on what deals you find. A Y8 head is usually $100, you'll need a few other things too. I question if it's even worth it - might as well get a complete Y8 for $250.
