First and foremost, I did a search I can't remember the exact wording that was used in the thread. I am looking for the one where the guy said something like "Look at my car", he had a CW R and it had black soot all over the rear bumper. People told him was an oil leak or something. I am having the exact same problem and would like to read on it again. Or... if anyone has any info for me? Thanks

 

just running a little rich, don't worry about it....how many miles on the motor? might be time to go through engine if it has a lot of miles or abuse!

Heh... got beat to it.

 

Well, when I got my car it had 140,000 miles on it. The guy who had it before me had a new short-block put on it, which has 30,000 on it. My boyfriend says he's pretty sure the a-holes who did the work just took all the parts from the blown motor and reused them... The soot is so bad it almost won't come off of the bumper. We have a head being worked on right now and I'm sure that will fix the problem when we put it on, but I like to learn things as I go, so I'd still like to know what people think is wrong.
