Em1 turbo selection help
Ok so I'm probably gonna be flamed horribly for this, I've been reading for 2 days straight trying to figure this out lol. I have a bone stock em1 as my daily A/C and P/S will remain with the turbo. For now I'd like to keeep the motor and trans stock other then a clutch and flywheel ( motor will be rebuilt at some point just not at the moment). I'm aware I need tuning, fuel etc this is more or less about figuring out the best suited kit for my goals/ stock engine and b16 trans.
Goals
- Reliable w/ac and ps
- Fun quick spoiling daily
- Would like to run low 12s as a long term goal (or at least have the power to do it though I could give 2 ***** about the actual #)
Now originally I was looking at trying to do a greddy kit, but not sure if realistically it's worth the money though 2 of the 3 goals would be met( not sure the 1/4 mile part would happen)
2nd choice was the go autoworks entry kit with the super 60 setup, but wasn't sure on the stock motor if this will be super laggy?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I had a 'disco potato' turbo (garret gt29rs: 2871) for about 100,000 trouble free miles on my EM1. No lag either. It was perfect size, water and oil cooled, and came with the Edelbrock Si street legal kit. You don't see too many of these kits because they retail for about 4000.00. That said, they come with quality parts that are reliable and trouble free. In stock configuration it made about street legal 220 whp with AC. With larger injectors, s300, and 3" exhaust it made 285 whp tuned at Church automotive. After a nasty emissions/smog ref. ticket, I returned it back to stock. Well worth it and a lot of fun. My 2 cents...
