Default Fg2 oil.help

d I just did an oil change added a lil under 5 quarts and its all gone today. One day. Checked the oil filter and drain plug while running and nothing. No puddle in garage either or oil on cv. Also had a friend follow me to see if the was any smoke when I first got the car. And also the dipstick has never given me a clear line except for when it changed to a colder temp. Dno what was put in before but I put in penzoil platinum with new OEM filter bolt and washer since it was my first oil change on this car. Anyone please help now it's barely at the bottom line and I just added half a quart. Please and thank you!

Fill it back up and let it idle and look for leaks. Not really sure how we can help you here. We don't have access to the car.

If the oil level was fine before the change the fault must have been with your workmanship. You either under tightened or over tightened the oil drain plug or oil filter. Or the new bolt and / or washer were not for your Civic.
If the problem was fixed, tell us what it was.

how sure are you that it's not burning oil?

have you checked for any leaks around the valve cover gasket area?

No oil on the dipstick does not necessarily mean it's all gone. IIRC from the bottom of the stick to the full line is about a quart.

Fill it back up, look for leaks and smoke.

Wouldn't it be pretty obvious if it was burning oil? Burning through 5 quarts in a day's worth of driving would make I noticeable smell I think.
