Default shift **** install

im helpin my friend install his new shift ****. Its one of those that the numbers light up. we need to hook up a couple wires, and were assuming you need to take off the shift boot or the whole panel around it. we can get the panel around the E-brake off easily, but not the panel that goes around the shifter. someone please help me out here.

yea, ive been trying to pop off the panel that goes around the shift boot. but its really stubborn. and the panel right next to it, which surrounds the e-brake pops off real easy. and it doesnt quite seem right to try and pop off the panel around the shift boot, cuz i didnt want to break it.

The armrest section is held on by four screws, two on each side. Take these out, slide the section towards the back of the car to unhook the latches on both side, and lift the arm rest section off and over the E-brake. There are four screws on the section that goes around the shifter (the cupholder is not part of this section). There are four screws, two on each side. Take these out. The whole section including the shift boot should just kinda swing up and out. It goes up into the dash, so you have to lift up on the back first, then slide it out. Now you should be able to get to everything. Hope this helps.

I had a really mean, sarcastic reply ready to fly, but I suddenly had a change of heart. That's wierd.
