Default quick help with shift boot replacement

ok this is probably the biggest NOOB question of my H-T life but i honestly dont know the answer so i'd better ask before i !@#$ somethin up

i got a JDM shift boot (red stitched) and i'm installing it as we speak
i have the center console off but i cant get my shift **** off?
i'm pritty sure it jsut screws off doesn't it?
i tried screwing it of but it take ALOT of force to get it to move at all
i decided to stop and ask 1st
if someone could help me with this real quick

Check for a locknut underneath the nooob.

yes your shift **** does unscrew, if there is a nut under it, that could be whats not letting you take off your shift ****

yeah i pulled down the shift boot a lil and there's no nut underneath it

comeone someone has to have taken there shift **** of a stock ITR
i'll go try unscrewing it again
it's so hard to unscrew though i need a vicegrips on it

get a strap wrench if you have one and unscrew that sucker or get a bunch of rubber bands and wrap the ****, this will make it easier ti grip and try to unscrew it.

it jsut to a vicegrips and some swairing

MODS this can be delited or locked now

all my shift ***** I've had come on/off really easily cept my str shift ****.. I think I might take it off just cause it's on there so damn tight..

Look to see if there's loose pieces of thread in it. When you see that there aren't (hopefully) toss a lil' bearing grease on the shifter.
