My 2003 accord 4 cyl with less than 100K won't go into 1st when moving. Is this the syncros? Dealer said I needed new tranny, clutch, etc for a tune of over 5K. I am skeptical. Sometimes when its stopped it also will not go in, but then if I double clutch (let out the clutch and put it in again) it will go in. Double clutching does not help when moving. Moving through all of the gears is now more difficult but grinding only occurs in first. The shifting has been getting stiffer for several months but the grinding happened suddenly (when my 16 yo daughter was in the middle of an intersection). Could it be the master cylinder? Any ideas on diagnostics.
