Default really need an experts help

Hey guys I recently bought a 99 accord 4 cylinder automatic with a bad engine. I replaced engine with a known good one. No cel's or anything like that. However when I start it up when it's cold and put it in reverse or drive and touch the gas pedal it tries to stall unless I play with the pedal. If it's in park or nuetral it revs fine but as soon as it's in gear and cold it tries to die when on the gas pedal. It doesn't do this when it is warmed up and at operating temperature. Isles around 740-800 rpm. I'm just lost and don't know where to start with no cel. Any and all help is appreciated

Did you reuse the intake/exhaust and sensors from the original engine?

Idles around 740-800rpm when it's cold? Yeah, check IACV function.
