Default K24A1 into Element

This topic has been touched on a couple times, but none with a definitive answer. I am now the owner of a free Element (K24A4) that needs an engine, and possible future owner of a salvaged 2004 CRV (K24A1). I know the differences in intake manifolds and EGR, but is the long-block the same minus the 0.1 compression difference? I know that all the current Element (K24A4) accoutrements would need to be swapped to the CRV engine (K24A1). Just checking before I end up with another piece of yard-art in the form of a CRV. This is only going to be a daily driver, so no performance mods will be done.

Thanks in advance.

The internets suggest this can be done. Swap everything from the element to the crv long block and drop it in. If the element head is good some have suggested swapping the head to the crv block, but it sounded unnecessary. Google around and you will find more info on this.

The bolded portion is what I would like to stay away from. I've been Googling for days with no solid answer. The closest I could come up with is that the A1 head does have the provision for the EGR plate, but it just doesn't exist like it does on the A4 which is a good thing if I just have to swap the external components only. Simple is the key here.
