Ring Gap recommendations for nippon cast pistons for turbo B18c1
Im in the process of rebuilding my b18c1 engine. But I can't find good info on ptw and piston ring gaps for turbo. Im going .20 (81.5) over on stock rods and low compression nippon cast pistons im looking to make 300hp. Should I keep stock specs or do you have any advice on piston clearance and ring gap, if you can help me.
I ran Nippon piston in my old LS swapped hatch with stock rods. IIRC piston to wall clearance was on the loose end of oem spec and top ring gap was .015-.016 and second ring was .018-.019 with 81.5mm stock sleeves. That engine held up to some serious abuse, probably ran 50+ 11 second passes, and got the crap beat out of it every time I drove it. It was probably around 385whp, but it was tuned properly and had methanol injection, witch is probably why it held up so well.

What piston to wall clerence did you set your bore?
I don't know what my exact p2w clearance was, I just know it was within oem specs.
Some good info in this thread.
