There really is no way of telling. If you're worried about it, just change it out with a new one

inspect the timing belt for any signs of wear. This includes both the smooth surface on the outside as well as the inside of the belt. if the ribs on the belt dont show alot of wear, you should be ok. if the car is going on 60k. if the car has been maintained through honda, then they should be able to pull up the service record in their database.

ok i'll try calling honda.. but i doubt the last owner had honda do any work because i have an aftermarket radiator... but then again he sold me his car as soon as his extended warranty expired..

The sure fire way to tell it's been changed is to change it.. I just did them on both my motors, just because I couldn't verify them being done. When in doubt, just do it.

huh?

I just changed them myself, I'm pretty comfortable with this stuff. I had to make a crank holder tool but that was pretty much the only hangup.. the belt cost me around 50 bucks US.

Dealer charges around $350 to start with. They also change the water pump, which is actually a very good idea.
