A/C blower has low setting only
Hello everyone, I'm a new user to this forum and need some help on my sister inlaws CRV. It's a 2007 LX with about 160K miles. She recently complained that her A/C blower would barely blow, and usually when it was hot outside. Of course when I look at the car it's working perfectly. She even left it with me for a few days but I could never replicate the problem.
As a last resort, I purchased a new resistor (figured it was only $40). I'm not a mechanic by trade, but I know resistors are supposed to control the flow of electricity from high to low. If it worked only on high I would be confident that the resistor would fix the problem, but since it's a problem where the fan is low speed only I'm a bit stumped.
So for about 3 weeks the car was fine. AC blower worked as it should until today. She said it's barely blowing out. Changing the dial from high to low does absolutely nothing. The A/C lights are on, and what little air that is coming out is very, very cold (so I know the compressor is working).
Any thoughts or suggestions of where I should start looking?
TIA!
Steve

My first suggestion would have been the blower motor resistor; however, since you changed that it could be the blower motor itself. I had the same issue on my SiR.
if you havent checked yet, first step for me would check the filter element if it has one thats serviceable and probe around in there see if theres an obstruction, next would be the fresh air vent on the cowl area and inspect that. those 2 are the "free things" to do first
