Default '00 US to JDM transmission swap problem

I need some help guys. I've got a '00 Honda CR-V, automatic, AWD. Trans went bad so I've purchased a JDM equivalent to swap. Upon installing the JDM trans we came across a problem: the JDM trans does not seem to have a spot to mount the sensor for the transmission range switch. There is no post on the lower passenger side of the transmission for the sensor to mount on to, it's just smooth metal housing. As a point of reference, this is the cable that connects from the gear selector and then routes its way to the trans. Unfortunately, I'm deployed right now and don't have a means of taking pictures of it (my buddy is working on it back in the states), however I will try to get pictures as soon as possible.

The end of the cable that is supposed to mount on to the transmission.

Where it mounts on the old usdm trans. Note the post.

View of the new jdm trans mounted in the vehicle with no place to mount the sensor.

Now that is interesting. Maybe its elsewhere on the tranny. Can you take a full image of that side on both the jdm and usdm? Or your army buddy whose station back at home, lord knows what he's doing at your house at night.

The difference is that your original transmission had the extension on the shifter shaft, or 'shaft control', to connect to the gear selector switch mounted on the transmission.
-Honda has used same transmissions with the selector switch in the shifter inside the cabin or mounted via the switch on the transmission. Depending on what the original model is that the trans came from may not have the right side cover and shaft. You can use your existing right side cover and shaft into your JDM transmission, but it requires opening the case and swapping shafts. If you can, have the importer supply you with the correct transmission.

Your JDM trans may have original come from a 4WD Civc/Integra that used an on shifter switch.
The same transmission was used on various Civic, Del Sol, CR-V vehicles from 92-03. Post '96 models will most likely have the trans mounted switch provisions.

I was thinking the same thing, swap the cover and shaft.
