Hey guys,

before taking my car to a shop, i'd like to share my issue with all of you.

Im not sure if this noise is normal or my ears are to good.. I have a 94 dx accord, manual, original clutch/tranny, car has 210,xxxkm on her. The sound is comming from the middle/right of the transmission area. Best to be describes as play, or a deadspot before wheels start rotating. The sound does not happen when letting out the clutch if the engine is at idle speed. When i give it gas and release the clutch to start moving, the sound is quick, as if there is slack between the power comming from the engine and connecting the clutch to the flywheel.. its not a loud clunk or thud, just a noticeable sound only through 1-3rd. If i can get an audio clip to better describe this to you all, i will.

It happens while the clutch and flywheel mesh to transfer the power to the wheels? maybe a backlash problem? its gotta be something that has to do with transmitting power... any suggestions will be taken into concideration and highly appreciated.

It's possible your clutch is starting to wear out. It might slip for a second before it grabs.

 

Thanks for the reply, i was planning on just replacing the clutch and possibly the flywheel.
