Replacement Door Initiates Window Switch Issue
I own a 1999 CR-V and had to replace the front passenger door. As I was installing it, I tried the window switch and found that "down" worked but not "up!" even from the driver's controls. I then swapped the wiring from the old door but no change! I then tested the old door with the old wiring and old switch (by plugging in the wiring harness from the door jamb) and found that neither window will go up once it goes down!!!
I then swapped the switch from the rear door and got the same result. I metered out the front switches and both perform the same (the continuity does change in up and down between the 2 and 4; and the 3 and 4 position wires), which means the switches are good. I attached a solid ground from the frame of the car to the window motor casing in case that was an issue with all of the loose wiring, but I still cannot make the window go up!! This is a true stumper.
I am able to jumper the motor into the closed position (make it go up), so both motors are functional.
Any ideas?
