Default 98 civic ex 4door vtec engine swap

So I found out that the engine in my car the block was cracked so I'm buying a new engine all together and going to just drop in a new d16y8 vtec in it... and I was figuring since my ac pump never worked I'm just going to leave it off for now what I need to know is when I do this can I just leave it off? Is their anything that I need to know other then just not putting it back on... yes I do know how to drop in the engine etc... but I have never messed with ac systems before I have also disconnected and took out the ac fan/radiator thing lol and the line going from it to the rest of the lines...
