Hi, I'm new.
Hi my names Wade and I'm new to the forum.
I have a 99 CRV ex 5spd AWD.
Im joining for help and insight on future mods I hope to do.
I have recently swapped the original B20z with 200k for a high comp JDM B20b and a better clutch. I have purchased a set of Old Man Emu springs to lift it a bit and a set of Krager wheels.
I would like to do some power adder mods and I'm trying to decide what I want. I use the CRV mainly for camping and I would basically like to add enough power to give the CRV the ability to trek up the mountain with me a couple others as well as some camping gear without feeling like its struggling. Maybe something in the ball park of 200hp focusing more on bottom end than top end power.
I'm considering Turbo or Vtec head swap or maybe a JRSC. I would like to try to keep it stock block and have it where I could pass an inspection with out too much part swapping and if possible increase MPG at the same time so I feel like a small turbo and minor fuel mods might be my best bet. Also not trying to break the bank.... I do have a spare b20 block now I can rebuild.
Other goals would be to reinforce drivetrain as much as possible. I'm not really planning on any serious off road activity but I want it to be reasonably solid. I'm interested to see what people have done differential wise with the AWD 5spd as well as the rear diff. The need might outweigh the cost for that but I'm still curious.
Anyways, tips and advice would be appreciated. I'll make some more specific posts soon.
Cheers.
