I bought a old 1997 Honda Accord with about 227,000 miles on it. He made it sound like a simple easy fix to get the windows going. Not looking that way now. I switched out the driver door control nothing different. I also tried a new door lock module behind the drivers door panel and nothing. it seems to be getting power to the main switch. I took the back passenger panel off and pulled the plug to the window and hooked up a car battery to the it and got it to roll the window up and down so I know at least one window motor works but not by the switches. Has anyone had this? Any help would be great.

 

I've had to fix several civics lately with similar symptoms. Found out that the wiring routed through the door hinge area had very brittle insulation which was causing the wires to flex at the connector. about half had broken, some were only hanging on by a thread.

it was not fun to fix. for one, i found a good connector at the junkyard and patched it in. for another i repaired each wire one by one and added extra heat-shrink tube for reinforcement. there are about 20 wires in the bundle.

removing the fender gave best access to this area. you may want to start there, pull some of the outer sheath back and see if the wires are damaged.

For the Accord, a loose or broken ground wire at the driver's door jamb area, specifically connector C417 (a gray 17P connector). Check the driver's door jamb wiring. When you pull out the rubber grommet, you'll see connector C418 (a blu/gray 15P connector) and connector C417. C417 is where you should look. -- It is relatively common area for the problem you're describing.
