Default Loud single click sound when you let off the gas

it makes pretty loud bang/click/tick whatever u wanna call it. When I let go the gas. Usually in 2nd 3rd or less in 4th and even less in 5 the gear. The sound comes from the passenger side I think it's from the tranny And it's not a countinous ticking sound. Like bad cv joint. . once you hear the sound. To re-create the sound. You have to get back on the gas. And let off the gas. But it doesn't do it every single time.. Even if I let go the gas slowly or fast the noise is about the same. Anyone have the same issue or have heard of this before? I hope it's not time for a tranny rebuild

I had problem down shifting unless I come to complete stop. And had hard time coming out of reverse gear. I replaced clutch master/slave cylinder and the problem is fixed. .
Clutch is not slipping

motor mount of some sort? it's the only thing I can think of... or check all hard ware for suspension. try to recreate the sound by bouncing. on the front end, if it's not suspension related then I'd say the motor is making the sound due to movement from bad motor mount(s) and or torque mounts

Aftermarket or OEM LSD? Some aftermarket LSDs are normally clunky when letting off the gas, especially during a turn.

OEM LSD..

Does not make noise when making turns like bad cv joint.

Hmm, I have a sound that is like a single metallic clink that happens in similar circumstances, like backing out of the garage it might happen once or twice, and letting off the gas while driving normally can cause it to happen. It doesn't happen all the time though. It drove me crazy when I first bought the car because I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be there or not. My itr is stock and in great condition, never been able to figure it out. It's not particularly loud, rather faint and you might ignore it if you aren't listening for it. Mine sounds like its coming from the driver side of the engine bay. Sounds similar to what you describe but might be different.
