if u dont care about doing high RPM's on the highway. and as long as ur car only traps like 100mph in the 1/4 then u could probably get away w/ it w/ out haveing to shift into 5th. if u trap over 100 at least get a GSR tranny. but the car would be hella fun w/ the b16a tranny, insanly short gears and good acceleration but very low top speeds for each gear w/ only a 7k redline.

listen to him

but you could swap an LS 5th for highway driving. But you would still top out 4th at like 10xmph@8000 RPM. Not the best for Track

I just was at 8000rpm tonight in 5th in a '00 Civic Si and my speedo said 142.

Oh, and use the B16 tranny, don't list to anyone else. It's sweet. Ask Karl (Jinxproof) how it works for the 1/4 mile

EXACTLY specially with slicks.
the top speed of the tranny is like 140-145 mph i think(actual) of course your speed is off at that speed.
ive hit 145 indicated before(no turbo) but im sure it was more around 130-135 as i still had rpm left and the gauge is off at those speeds

I'm running a type r tranny and If I'm correct they are are the same except for 1st which means nothing. My car is turbo and I love it. Mine does 140+ in 4th at 9800rpm. You'll get thru the gears quicker and stay in your powerband.

It works fine for me. I have type r tranny, B18B with drag3. The only problem is the highway. I wonder how long it can handle 4500rpms for? But so far no problems. You shift alot, but if you like shifting(I do), you will like it. I have considered an LS tranny and putting in LSD though.

Here is a link to a good gear ratio calculator.....

Just over 70 mph. 70 is 3851rpm with stock 93 si tires.

Try the link I posted above.

what size tires do you have? You can check your speedo accuracy by going to tire rack, getting the rolling diameter of the tire, putting it in the calculator above, and comparing.
