Code p0341 but no symptoms whatsoever, help! 06 accord
Hello,
I'm new here, I have searched everywhere. I own an 06 accord ex coupe with the included vtec 4 cyl engine. For weeks now I have been driving with this code but my accord has no symptoms symptoms whatsoever. No strange noises, no loss of power, no issues with timing or starting the car, great fuel economy car drives beautifully. I tried to reset the ecu. Code went away but it came back. I don't want to bring it to the stealer ship and my mechanic of more than 20 years retired. I'm in Queens NY. Is there anything elselse that could be causing this code? Any easy way to check the timing chain to see if it's centered? ( I'm not much of a mechanic but I get by) I need some advice please. I get nervous because it now has 161,000 miles but it's been driving me crazy! Both my wife and I use the car. I've traveled to Maryland and back and no issues.
Is it possible that there is an issue with the chain and have no symptoms this long? Are we driving a "time bomb". If there's anyone here that can help me figure it out it would be great . Also if you know of a trustworthy mechanic that can diagnose what's causing this please let me know. In the meantime, will the gurus here help me?
Thanks

There are a few reasons why this would show up. So lets start with the easiest reason and work our way down.
With 161k miles. The questions must be asked, when was the last time you changed your spark plugs? (coil over plug).
This NORMALLY is an indications that the Camshaft Position Sensor is either bad (needs replacing) or there is a poor connection to the PCM from the sensor.
But lets start with the Plugs. Even if one is bad it can set off the code due to constant misfire. Has your fuel economy gone down at all?

Thanks for the quick response. In order I will answer the best I know.
1) plugs are one year old
2) misfire I have no codes indicating a misfire nor does it feel like there is one, car runs smooth, Rpms are steady and my fuel economy has not decreased.
3) as far as poor connection to the pcm from the sensor I am ashamed to say I don't know where the pcm is located or how I would check the connection ( from where to where).
The second response after yours says to check for frayed or damaged wires (help please).
I can start by changing the plugs (which ones do you recommend?)
I would need help looking for the connections between the pcm and camshaft positioning sensor.
