Default Finding Current Selected Gear (Is The An ECU Input)?

Im trying to create an in car display unit, for displaying stats about my civic, so far i can read in & display, the current speed, rpm, (can calculate ETA's, 0-100km's (im live in New Zealand heheeh), & 1/4 miles).

Im wondering if there is a way to find out what gear i have currently selected, for the same way that automatics display the currently selected gear, im trying to do the same for a manual.

No, you will not find such a signal from the ECU on a 4th gen honda.

You would have to make it take into consideration gear ratio, speed, and rpm. then using math you could calculate the gear and make it display the gear.
