95 Civic HB Window motors slow. Can't figure out why **Fixed**
I have a 95 Honda Civic HB. The driver and passenger side electric windows are very slow. I replaced the motor on the driver side, the rubber track on both doors, and greased both sides. Nothing seems to be improving the speed of the motors.
I searched the forum and found other people with this issue but I've done all the solutions that I could find.
Is there something else I could be trying?

Check for power and grounds to the motors, a bad switch, contacts, can limit current.
With a multimeter check continuity to chassis ground of both the leads going to the window motors, both are grounds at rest, then unplug the motor and connect one probe of the meter to one of the leads and the other probe to the other lead and rock the window switch noting the voltage, if it is not 12. something then it is most likely the switch or powers or grounds to the switch. 94

I found out that my windows were missing the assistant spring. I'm going to be installing them shortly and I'll let you all know how the windows improved.
It's part number 3 and 4. It's the same part, but they are only on certain models. They are always on the manual windows though. They are also on the EX model with power windows. That's where my power windows came from. I called the dealer and they said that my window kit I took from another civic uses a spring to help assist the window travel.
I just got the springs in the other day, but have not had a chance to install them yet.

The window assist spring mentioned in my last post helped tremendously. Now the window rolls up smoothly and at a faster rate.

Thanks for posting the solution to the problem, GearHeadDriver. Many people neglect to do that, and it leaves the thread open-ended. Maybe edit the post title to include a "*FIXED*" or something along those lines? I'm sure there will be others with a similar problem in the years to come that will appreciate it.
I am unable to edit the title of my own thread. This forum doesn't allow that sadly.
RonJ, would you please update my title?

Just to let everyone know, it's very important to use the right kind of grease. A shop used some that was thick and it actually made the window worse!
