Default Couple Noob Suspension Questions

Alright everyone so I'm a complete noon both to wreching cars and EF civics.

So I was strolling through the pick n pull lot yesterday and these caught my eye.

It was half price day so I picked them up for $15 a piece recognizing the Ground Control name from my suspension research. The struts are KYB GR2.

So here are my questions..

Pulled these off of a sedan..Will this set up fit my Si hatch?

I understand the GC's are strut specific..what that the case? Is it the black rubber insert? And if so are there other ones to accommodate different struts?

I was able to pull the spring out of one of them by loosing the top nut and removing the "cap" on the other one the struct just spins and the nut doesn't come off..what am I missing?

Does GC sell sets for just the rear? The sedan I pulled these off of had what looked like an eBay set up in back..not GC.

Is there a way to tell the spring rate of the eibachs?

Thanks all!

They will fit your hatch no problems. Even the shock. Unless the sedan was using a different fork and the shocks were for a different model civic.

Use a wrench on the top of the strut to hold it in place while you remove the nut on top. You'll see the top has the flat area for a wrench.

Those look to have a spring rate of 200, it's stamped on them.

GC does sell pairs.

Actually, the 200 represents the height in mm, 64 is width (mm), and 67 is spring rate in N/mm ( N/mm*5.6 = lbs/in)

In this case, it's ~375 lbs/in

Thanks for that, I didn't know. I haven't looked at mine in forever but mine are stamped differently. Mine have the rate stamped on them in lbs. if I remember, they look like 0700/250/0400. And the fronts end in 0500. 7" tall, 2.5" inner diameter, 400lbs rear and 500 lbs front.
