i have a 2002 honda crv. 2 years ago i have change my oxygen sensor and now the same code appear p1166 and p1167 .. i bought a new one online and change it but after resetting the code.. the code goes back.. can please anyone help me coz oxygen sensor doesnt come cheap.. i have do smog test on my crv and im registration is about to expire..
Make sure the plug connectors didn't back off but seated correctly and check your fuses to make sure the old sensor didn't burn a fuse. Sounds like the new sensor could be defective otherwise. Did your old sensor turn the light on after resetting the code? You can look up voltage readings and pierce insulation to verify but I think sensor could be defective. Our element 04 is real sensitive. I think you have i-vtec like ours.W
Hello All,
I am having the same issue. I was given an 01 accord by a friend who planned on junking it. It only had 130k miles, so I decided to take it off her hands. The car has had p1166 and 1167 for as long as I've had the car. The old O2 sensor is a Denso (PN: 192400-1020).
First I bought a Bosch O2 sensor for it from autozone (PN: 15733), I was disappointed to find that it didn't have an electrical connector at the end, so unless you plan on splicing wires, don't buy that one.
I returned the O2 sensor and bought the Bosch O2 sensor (PN: 13075). Upon install, I was dissapointed to find out that the wiring harness wasn't long enough to meet the male end of the electrical connector on the other side. I had to disconnect a standoff to make it fit and even then it was a stretch. This didn't give me high hopes for this part. So I reconnected the battery and started the car back up, the light was out! And then sixty seconds later it came back on with just the p1167. I cleared the code multiple times and kept coming back.
Can anyone convince me not to burn a hole in my wallet for the OEM honda part? If not, where is the best place to buy it?
Original O2 sensor Don't buy this. This harness wasn't long enough.
