Default Stock 92 Civic DX - CEL code 9

Hey guys... It's been a while since I've posted... But ever since I dissasembled my distributor to replace the coil my CEL has been on... Well soon after I replaced the coil I had to go back in and replace the coil again (due to the first being faulty), rotor and the cap. Well the CEL is still on. I pulled the code and its #9 for Cylinder position sensor. I don't have a way to check voltage or anything but was wondering if it's a common issue? If so how can I fix it? I've already did the steps to reset the ECU by pulling ECU fuse along with the backup but it still came back.

Remove the 7.5A hood BackUp fuse for 5 minutes. Does code 9 return?

If so, you only need an inexpensive multimeter to troubleshoot the problem with Ohm tests.

I read that I needed to remove the backup fuse plus the ECU fuse for 10 minutes. Which I did, then it said to let car run for 10 minutes after putting the fuses back in. The only difference is before when I turned key to II the CEL stayed on and would remain on, now while on II it comes on for a brief moment then cuts off until I turn on the car.

Post car, engine, and car mod information.

Removal of the 7.5A hood BackUp fuse for 5 minutes is sufficient to reset the ECU.

It's a 92 Civic DX 1.5L no mods. Once I get home I'll pull the backup by itself and see if that fixes it.

I think what you did was adequate, just overkill.

Measure resistance between pins B11 and B12 in ECU connector B, and also continuity to body ground at each pin individually.
