Hello,

I dirt track race my 1991 Honda CRX D16A6 SI and in the past I have used the MSD Blaster SS external coil. I had my engine block rebuilt before this season and when I went to reinstall the distributor and coil I started getting error codes 4 and 9 on my ECU. I purchased a NEW distributor and MSD Ignition kit (Cap and Blaster SS coil) and got the same results...

The reason why I am trying to run an external coil is because the car runs at about 6800-7000 rpm consistent on the track. Hence why I rebuild the engine block each year, and the internal coil gets really warm when I am racing and it seems the car loses power late in the race and I can only get about 5500 rpm consistent. Any help would be appreciated.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions to try? I am stumped and wondering if anyone has seen this happen before...
