Hello Honda-Tech. My distributor went bad so i ordered another one and put it in. with that i put on new plug wires. before i replaced these 2 my car ran fine. it still runs fine until i hit vtec. when i hit vtec, which is around 4400-4500 rpm, its very loud and im not increasing rpm any faster. like i said, its never had this problem. im not low on oil or anything like that. its in any gear. 1st through 5th. the car starts fine and idles fine. the timing is perfect, if not every close! please help! the motor is a b16a1.

 

What distributor and spark plugs did you put in it? Also, any codes?

Should be TD-22u for the distributor and NGK BKR7E11 (I'm almost positive on that) for the plugs.
