Default distributor, easy fix

the other day i started my car (B16A powered) and i heard this awful screeching sound thought maybe bearings in the alt. but it sounded like it was coming from my valve cover scared the **** out of me at first but felt the dist. and it was vibrating bad
took the dist. couldn't even spin the shaft. the bearing shattered. everyone i know was all talking it is gonna be $$$$$$$$ just $11.00 bucks for a new bearing piece of cake to replace.

Nah man, distributors are easy as cake. Not too many people have the ***** to tackle one, but once you get an idea on how all the sensors actually work its cake.

distributor is EASY AS ****. Look just go by the whole new thing, don't mess around with trying to fix the old one. all you do is pop off the distrib. and put the new distrib. and cap on. The hardest part is indexing the damn thing. You can find this in Chiltons or Haynes Auto Repair manuals. Or you can ask someone on this site. I don't know for the B16a, i do know it for the d16 though, because i had to fix that before my car even started.

Finally! OK, what is the "CKP sensor"? I went and shelled out $150 for a Type R disty to replace my '96 GS-R disty, because the mechanic said something about a "CKP something sensor" intermittent.........The engine misses sometimes, too, especially at full throttle. I'm also getting a MSD 6AL put in soon, and i want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Nick
