Default Any help appreciated

So, I'm new to the site and have gotten a lot of my answers that ive needed so far because a lot of people have been having the same problems I have. I would like to take a moment to thank all the dedicated members of the forum for all their insight and assistance they've given to everyone who needed a fix for their cars. I have a 99 accord with about 177,000 miles under the belt. I have to say this car has been amazing. Ive recently started giving the car a lot more attention and I have started looking into performance parts. Lately, the car has been running like sht. I noticed the inside of the intake manifold was covered in sludge. So I removed it from the engine and cleaned it out. Then I had a small oil leak coming from the valve cover so I changed the gasket. I figured while it was off Id clean the rocker arms and cam rocker shaft. All was fine until I started the car and took it for a spin. The car would not shift into second gear (auto transmission) and would close the throttle body at 50 mph. Ive changed pretty much every sensor in that area and even check the cam rocker assembly. Everything seems fine but it seems to be stuck in this limp mode and I cant get it running right again. I took it to autozone and even though the check engine light was on they couldnt find a code. I got home and turned the car off and on once and the light went away. I guess what I'm asking is, is there anything anyone can think of that would limit the speed and rpm to 5,000? I thought maybe valve float. Any help is appreciated.

Run a compression test to see if anything is wrong with the engine.

Have someone else scan the car for codes. Maybe another auto parts store or a mechanic that will do it for free.

I can definitely try that, the weird thing is, there's no check engine light on anymore. Maybe a code is saved on the ecu.
