New to the group. I have found some older threads regarding disabling airbags on the older civic's. My daughter has an 07 CRV and loves the car. Unfortunately, it is now part of the expanded recall for the inflator problem. Parts not due in until mid summer, she can't rent a car as she is not old enough. I would prefer to simply pull the plug on the airbags in her car until the parts come in and it's done. Pulled the fuse, but after reading the civic posts, maybe there's more to it. Either I can disable the airbags or tomorrow I trade it in. Any thoughts? Appreciate it.

pulling the fuse does disable them, but if you want them completely disconnected, use a flat head screw driver and flip the steering wheel upside down. theres a small access pannel that you need to remove. unclip the yellow cable and put the panel back on. open the glove box and pull it all the way down to the floor. theres a yellow cable behind where the box sits. disconnect the yellow connector.
