Need some info on JDM D15B
Hello all,
New here so bear with me. I own a 92 Honda Civic LX with a JDM D15B swapped into it I bought off a friend a long time ago. Car has been my daily driver and treated me well. Car in stock expect a aem intake I threw on there I got for free when my brother turbo'ed his civic. Other than that 100% stock. Car is a commuter car so no interest in anything other than keeping it running to keep miles off my fun car (2011 STI)
It is time for some maintenance for the old girl as she needs some love. Here are my plans with the assistance of my brother who is a Honda guy who has done swaps and turbo's on his own civic:
pulling motor and trans from the car
Full gasket set to replace what's needed and fix the multiple oil leaks the car has
Full timing belt set (it's slightly overdue)
And anything else broken or worn I come across when I pull it
Now my issues
Honda dealer is pretty much a loss at this point as all they want is my VIN for parts which I tell them won't do me any good as the motor isn't what came with the car. So my question is what full gasket set and timing belt kit work with this motor? I have done some research and it seems the JDM D15B is essentially a d15b7 bottom and a D16z6 top. Is that the case? What motor do I order parts for that will work on the JDM D15b?
Thanks!

Looks like the D15z1 came in the 92-95 civic vx. I'll use that as my base for ordering parts
Look carefully. Do you have the 2 stage VTEC (like D16Z6) or the 3 stage VTEC (like D15Z1)?
What is the head code?

I did. I'm pretty sure it's that one I posted above. I can double check tomorrow but I had just gotten the block code and happened to look up and see that code as well. Was def a P08..pretty sure was -3 after it
The head of your engine is similar to the head of the D16Z6 rather than the D15Z1 (3-stage VTEC-e).
The D15Z1 is an efficiency engine, whereas the D16Z6 is more of a performance engine.

Ok does that effect how I order stuff for it? Not interested in making it fast. Just my commuter car I want to do some maintenance too and keep her running well. Have done most tune up stuff already buying stuff telling parts guy it's the 1.6L (for cap and rotor, plugs, etc)
Need to do timing belt and want a full gasket set for when I pull the motor for a full look over and freshen up

Go to Autozone's website.
Type in 92 Honda Civic Si D16Z6
Search for head gasket.
Write down the part number.
Now, Type in 92 Honda Civic VX D15Z1.
Search for head gasket.
Write down the part number.
Once you've done that.....
D15Z1 all the parts.
In the event you want parts from the dealer, then buy a head gasket for a D16Y8, not because it's better, but because it's cheaper.
After that.....
D15Z1 all the parts.

PM RonJ@HT for all future questions.
