Default 5000k vs. 6000k

I have multiple pictures of both setups lit up, and I see that the 5000k kit appears blueish in color and the 6000k kit appears more purple/violet. What I wonder is if the 5000k kit is brighter than the 6000k kit b/c the kelvin rating is lower... OR is it just different in color? In other words... i heard that the 6000k kit is 30% dimmer then the 4300k kit.... is the 5000k less dim?

I'm guessing the 5000k would be (in terms of brightness) between the 6000k and the 4300k.

Errr its all in color, just get 4300.

One of a few videos i found a while back of a 5000k phillips kit on an RSX. Never seen the kits side by side, so I cant tell which is brighter. If anyone has a 6000k phillips kit, and could tell if there is a difference in brightness between the 5k and 6k speak up

Crazy video. very bright. I say, get whatever color you are looking for, because the difference would be very minimal.

Would be great if someone could give some input who has seen a lot of the 6000k kits. Video of the 6000k kit would be VERY appreacited.

OEM 4300K always has the greatest lumens. Anything higher in color temperature is just compromising light output. Our eyes are not the best tools when it comes to brightness. Get a calibrated light meter to do this. This cannot be argued.

But, if color is a priority then your losing the point of why to get HIDs in the first place.

The housing and light aberation are more responsible for the prismatic purple/blue/white color we see coming from OEM HID vehicles. The D2S/R is best at 4300K IMHO.

Do a projector swap from an S2000, Audi, or BMW to achieve the color and maintain the high lumens.

Good feedback folks. Anyone know where 5000k kits are sold? With true Phillips parts... i have heard mixed opionions about whether they are made by phillips or not, and if they did once make them if they make them any longer.

If I'm correct phillips doesn't make the 5000 anymore someone on here has the 5000 (jadedragons) cousin but I dunno his SN but I think they discontinued it.
