Default wilwoods

Just a quick one, been looking at a set of good brakes to get. I have my mind pretty set on wilwoods.
I would like superlites and 2 piece rotor. People say they will fit under 15s but my 282 dc2 setup just gets under my toms racing cr-3 splits.. does anyone know what total clearance i would need for 298.5mm disks with the caliper.

If they dont fit i'll just go with midlights. No biggie

I have a front Wilwood kit and there is more than enough space with 15 in wheels. These are my 11" Wilwood kit with 15" Konig Dial-In wheels. Great wheels by the way 15x8 only 11.9lbs.

I have a 12.19" Wilwood kit with Dynapro calipers on my EM1. Wilwood's site says it will fit under a 15" wheel, but mine barely fit under my 16s with a spacer. Maybe it's the wheel design?

Those look like Enkei RPF1 wheels, and if they are, then they step down in diameter near the spokes. On my car (2000 Civic hatch race car) I'm running Integra/Honda V6 front calipers with 11" rotors with Enkei RPF1 15x7 ET35 offset wheels, and I had to grind down the caliper and caliper bracket for clearance to the Enkei RPF1 wheels - I ground enough that there is clearance with and without 10mm spacers. Anyway, the main thing is that the Enkei RPF1 wheels step down in diameter out near the spokes, so don't give as much clearance as other wheels. - Jim

It could be. The Willwood should list an overall diameter in mm. Get the barrel diameter of the wheel and compare. You might have to call in for the wheel info. I've found it's not a typically listed item.

I just noticed. Nice tire choice For the price Rivals are awesome.

It is all about wheel choice. I found out you can fit SL6R's with 12.19" rotors under 15x8 +28 57DR and 15x7 +35 RE30. Neither have a step lip and the spoke design especially on the RE30's allows for huge calipers! Personally the 11.75" rotors have a better selection and are less than half the cost of the 12.19" because they are standard size for stock car chassis. It also allows for more wheel selection.

I have my first track day in this car coming up next month and I'm looking forward to seeing how they do. I need every edge I can get to keep my brother's new Camaro SS 1LE in sight.

Good to know. I have a set of 949 Racing 6UL 15x8s that I was running before they wouldn't fit over my current brake setup. If I went to an 11.75" rotor with corresponding caliper bracket, that might make it possible. I'd like to get back to a 225/45/15 tire too. Once these 16" BFG Rivals wear out, I may be selling my Enkei RPF1s. Thanks for the info.

What motor do you have in your CRX? With the BFGs and my k20 I can run down Camaros, Mustangs, and 911s all day long. The CRX is such a wonderful racing platform.

Here a video of my CRX overtaking cars at the Ridge Motorsports Park.

Nice video. Unfortunately, I can only wish my power to weight ratio was around a CRX HF's level with a K20. I have an EM1 with the original B16 and a few bolt-ons. Eventually, I'd like to have either a B20V or K swap, but for now, I'll just have to make do with what I have.

Indeed I like theDiial Ins a lot too.Traded my Rota Track Rs on some mix matched tires for the Konigs on brand new tires.15x8s, and for a cheaper rim,11.9lbs is decent. What did the wilwood setup cost, and what was it just front rotors calipers or what?

Even the biggest 12.19" version will clear those wheels. Rays made the TE37 specifically for big brake clearance. At around $550 for the kit it is a good buy for the Honda market.

I've been using the Dynalite 12.19" kit for years with no issues. I like that the calipers are the same for amost all their kits which allows brake pad manufacutrers the ability to produce aftermarket options.

It seems that th price has gone up $100 since I bought mine a decade ago. Damn you inflation!
