Does anybody know how to tell what year a JDM b16a is from? JDM motors do not use numbers behind the block code b16a. There is a 7 digit number under the engine code, and it either starts with a "1" or a "5". I fogot what this number meant. I need to know what year my JDM b16a block is from. Thanks...

 

just look at the cylined head casting #'s. the farthes number to the left is the engine year, but it is always one year older than the car.

 

i am not really sure..but i remember reading that the 1 means that it came from an xsi integra and the 5 means that it came from a civic hatchback.....i dont know how to tell the year but i can assure you that it is not newer than a 91 or 92....

Ya if it starts with a 1 it's from an Integra, 5 civic. Look above the heat sheild on the left side, there should be a stamp like (89) or something, hope that helps.

 

Some 92 and 93 Civic Sir B16's came with 5-million series blocks. Mine is stamped 93 and is from a 93 Civic Sir.

 

yea mine was stamped 93 and it is a 5 mil series too

like everyone else said the only way to check is the number above the left part of the heatshield on the head

 

My Integra has a b16a block and a says pr3-4 on the head.says 06 for the year idk y.and a p30 ecu.what motor is this and a lil info if possible
