hi everyone. I am new to this site. was wondering if anyone can help me I blew b20b3 (low compression )motor in my 98 crv so I dropped a bought a used b20b8 long engine ( high compression ) swapped everything from b20b3 onto the b20b8 dropped it in and eventually got it running it was really rough but it went. I brought engine out of crv that had front passenger corner damage from accident. was pushed in a bit, but wasn't that bad. so I was told by a mechanic to replace timing belt and that would fix the problem. so I replaced belt (following a u tube video) making sure all marks line up .went to start it ... no spark! traced it back to coil . replaced that and spark plugs now I have spark ( not real good / strong spark like it was though.). so I have spark and it's getting petrol . cranks over fine and starts to fire when cranking sounds so much like it's going to run but when I release the key from start it won't run. When I turn key engine light comes on for 2 -3 secs then turns off. so then i tried to do flash test for error codes , when I bridge diagnostic clip the engine light comes on and stays on. the only other thing I have noticed is when I am cranking it the rpm gauge doesn't budge. can anyone offer any suggestions? I would be so very appreciative if so !!! I am so close but yet so far . thanks heaps
