Hi everyone... It's a 1996 Honda civic So I swap a 96 none VTEC engine for a 98 VTEC sohc wiring harness and computer. Now...I'm getting five codes 1 air control sensor, 2 idle control sensor, 3 MAP sensor, 4 fan temperature sensor ,5 ignition cap. Beside the VTEC is leaking oil from the top I change the gasket for a new one and still leaking ugh. Don't know what to do...

There is no "ignition cap" code. Post the ACTUAL codes. The other four, you either didn't plug in, or didn't plug in correctly. Tell us the wires colors going to each of those sensors.

 

Post actual codes.

its not about being a dick to the new guy, its about a total lack of effort in a post asking for free help. how much is an hour of diagnostics at your local shop? if you have your hand out, you can at LEAST try.

Auto or manual transmission? What 96 Civic trim (CX, DX, HX, EX)? The IACV previously had 3 wires. Does it now have 2 wires?

P1362 - TDC
P0113 - IAT
P1108 - Baro (bad ECU)
P1508 - IACV
P1259 - VTEC

 

its a DX 1997 5 speed

 

You did say you used the engine harness from the vtec engine right?

 

yes I start thinking I may have a bad wiring harness

1 what was the original engine?
2 why did you switch to vtec harness?
3 what engine presently in the car ?


a DX 1997 5 speed could have any engine does not help much

 

What is the engine code on the replacement? Are all of your sensors plugged up? pics of engine code and ecu plugs.
