Lights and everything work but car won't start.
I have a 2002 Acura rsx type-s. The other day my car just wouldn't start. Has been working fine since I bought it. The lights and everything work. But when I turn the key nothing happens. It doesn't make a sound or anything. Tried to jumpstart thinking it might be the battery at first. But nothing happened.
Can you push/roll start it ??? If so, check the floorboard to see if there are broken parts of the clutch switch pad there. The parts usually found are shaped like a small round disc (or part of one like pie slices) or a cone shape... and they are usually dark blue or white in color.
The test would be to MAKE SURE the car is in neutral and the e-brake is firmly engaged, reach up to the top of the clutch pedal box and depress the clutch switch and hold it in... and turn the key to start the car. If you cannot reach it yourself from the floor, get someone to help you. If the car starts, then the pad inserted into the clutch pedal arm is missing and thus, not depressing the clutch safety switch/starter relay circuit... meaning the car won't start and no sound is heard.
