If you plan on building the motor get the H22A. The H22As have weak ringlands, but forged pistons and sleeves fix that. If you are just going to drop in the motor and do bolt-ons/nitrous get the H22A. If you want to boost a stock block get the B18C.

Can be done with either motor...depends how much money u wanna spend. I would think the cheapest/quickest way...H22 100 shot should get u in 12s

- GOOD choice, I would go 120 shot though...
-my h22 was asking for 120 shot instead of 100... (too bad didnt have a chance to try it)

Gotta agree with this one because i've seen it ,
Stock JDM H22 + 100 shot in a Hatchback...............The guy ran a 12.2 all day

Newman broke into the 11's with his h22 setup and 100 shot.
That's what I plan on doing. I agree that it is the cheapest and quickest way into the 12's and maybe even 11's.

With my experience in honda motors every swap I have done into civics with h22a motor they have spun bearings in the bottom end. A stock bottom end of the h22a is very weak when it comes to high rpms. With my personal street driven b18c1 I am putting 215 to the wheels and taking the motor to 9850 every day I drive it. If you go with a h22a and put nitrous on it be ready to tear it down in a short amount of time.

As the Nitrous moderator of preludeonline.com I will have to disagree with you on this one. It is true that the H22 doesn't rev as high as the B18C, but nitrous does not cause spun bearings. It might blow stock head gaskets, snap stock rods, and blow stock pistons, but I've never seen a spun bearing b/c of nitrous.

i have a jdm h22 in my hatch runs mid 13's on street tires
with i/he
to turbo this thing would be 11's easy
i had a sohc turbo'd running mid 12's in same kid of hatch

if as all u want is 12's or 11's
which ever is cheaper do it
it can be done with both
but you;ll never be satisfied you will want more power
and its easier to obtain more power with a b18c
i am sselling my car to start a b18c project for more power

im gonna build my motor and cutom turbo, im not gonna drop it in the car untill i know it will hit 10's

an h22 having a weak bottom end is bullshit. i've broke 3 oil pumps racing and still have the same bearings in it.the only weak part of the h22 is its pistons.
