del sol clunk on warm start.
Hello guys I have a 1993 Honda delsol a d16z6 5speed.
I noticed recently that I get a loud clunk coming from the engine. The only time it makes the clunk is after the car has been fully warmed up and restarted.
I had my girlfriend start the car multiple times while I listened to where its coming from. It's definitely not a mount or the starter its coming from the head/block. So i'm wondering whats causing this a backfire maybe? Valves touching the piston?
I replaced my headgasket 6 months ago and got the head milled and block resurfaced. well 2 months ago my water pump started leaking so I threw a timing belt, tensioner and water pump on.
I noticed when making sure everything was in time my cam gear was either 1 tooth to far one way or the other. So I might need an adjustable cam gear.
The clunk didn't start until recently so i'm not sure if that has any significance to my problem.
Here is a link to video of an Acura with the exact same noise. I can get a video of mine instead if needed. anyone have any ideas or thought on my problem. The car runs great besides that.

It doesn't sound like the starter it sounds like its coming from the motor. I forgot to mention that my starter went bad a few months ago aswell and I got a reman. I'll try to make sure the sound isn't coming from the starter and might replace it.
If you think it's the starter why would it do it only on a warm start after being ran for a while.
