D16y8 Fuel problems?
my 98 civic has been having some weird symptoms, the engine has to turn over alot more than normal to start but once it starts it runs perfectly and is totally normal. If I shut it off and start it again right away, it starts like it used to (should). It only acts up if its been sitting for like 12 hrs. I just swapped this engine into a new body along with the ecu, gas tank, pump, and put all new fuel lines on it. This doesnt seem to be a major problem atm but would love to know why its doing this, this engine always ran perfectly for the last 2 years.
Thanks

yea i used an obd reader, it does have one pending its flashing a c, i believe thats for the o2 sensor. I need to replace the thermostat and i think that is why it hasnt cleared, the engine hasn't been up to normal operating temp for very long.

If your engine is running cold, the fuel mixture is too rich, which can foul the spark plugs, kill the cat, and cause other issues.

Do a fuel system pressure test. Attach a fuel pressure gauge, turn the key to ON(II). What pressure does the system see? Turn the key to OFF, but leave the pressure gauge attached. Check again in 2 hours. How much pressure has been lost? Make sure the gauge you use allows pressure to pass to the injectors, so their seal can be tested as well.
