i drive a 1994 honda eg and my car won't start, it just cranks but thats it. when i turn the key the dash lights don't come out. sometimes my car turns on and i drive it around for a bit and when i park it it won't turn on anymore. i changed the fuel pump, fuel filter and ignition switch, but it still don't turn on. can some one please help me and tell me what the problem could be. thank you.

 

Test the ignition switch.

 

When the car won't start, check your spark - what color is it? When the car won't start, does the CEL come on for ~2 seconds then turn back off when you turn the key to ON(II)?

 

my sparks are good, when i turn the key none of the daslights turn on, the dash lights turn on only when i try to turn on the car, but it only cranks.

 

i just changed the ignition switch, idk if that could be the problem or some wires that could be burn

 

Check and clean your thermostat ground.

 

I drive a 95 'sol VTech. I had a similar sounding problem this past summer. I had to replace my distributor assembly as there was a faulty sensor that couldn't be replaced. It cost much more than just replacing a cap and rotor.

 

So just to clarify, the dash lights only come on when youre trying to crank the car over?
