I can't tell if my clutch is slipping or not. I think it is. The video shows a 1-3rd gear pull. Seems like it's slipping in second gear around 7000rpm. I did smell metallic but I was braking with my brakes from 100mph but not slamming on them.
LS/VTEC Turbo with a LS transmission and 205/40/R17 tire size.
Don't pay attention to the a/f gauge. It crapped out on me earlier that day. Innovative or Bosch widebands seem to go bad easy.

Doesn't look like it to me. Every one I have had slip from overpowering it will instantly hit the rev limiter after it reaches whatever RPM it starts slipping at under WOT conditions.

Welp, if the clutch is holding then I guess it's on to stickier tires and more power.
I looked at a RPM vs Speed chart for B series transmissions and the MPH seems to check out with 8000rpm with a LS. Just wanted to get some opinions.
also, afaik, if your clutch slips it will always slip at the rpm where it slips. Tires tend to slip when they hit a certain torque value based on gearing multiplication, where the clutch isn't subject to the transmission torque multiplication so they will always slip at a certain RPM.
You are welcome! And yes, maxwellmuder expanded on my poorly explained slip conditions; that has been my exact experience as he stated. Sorry, I was in a hurry LOL!

Welp, I took the car out to the local spot here in NOLA and the clutch is toast lol. Maybe when it gets hot or maybe I have oil leaking or something.
I did this race. I had a passenger, damn near bald tires, didn't launch the car at all, and missed third so it took a second to get in gear. But when I get it in gear you see how it walks the MS3. I also need to setup BBG and launch control. Overall I'm happy with it for 300hp @ 9.5psi. Don't mind the wideband reading. The sensor took a dump on me a few nights before. Tired of the Bosch widebands going bad.
And then the MS3 and I made a u-turn and went again. I hit 2nd gear and my MPH stayed at 40mph and the revs flew up with a metallic smell after. Swapping to a GSR and ITR FD w/ LSD and also adding a new clutch.
I'll edit the other video and show the slipping.

In the original video in your original post it doesn't show the MPH very well... with that being said, you having a modified car it should rack out the RPM much faster when it is slipping under WOT conditions or you will get a sever rev hang effect, which I see neither of those. Check out this videos for comparison - first video is fast reving, second is rev hang. Both are indication of a slipping clutch.
I am not saying your clutch absolutely isn't slipping especially since the smell is there, just by the current videos I don't see it. Maybe a new video will shed some light on things. In the second gear run the engine flutters a bit exactly like it does when the tires loose traction. The higher in the gears you go the more pronounced the slipping will become.

Ok. I will post the second video when I get home from work. I'll try to make it bright so the gauges are clear to see.

Here is a slow motion of 1st and 2nd. Speedometer sticks at 40mph all of second. I made it as bright as possible. Hope this helps.
