B20Z Non Vtec High Comp
Hello folks Im kinda new here I just ordered the first parts to start my engine build
Eagle H beams
and Im wondering if the YCP 11:5:1 pistons would be fine to use with the non vtec head as they all are listed for b20 with Vtec heads
this engine will be put in my 1993 Del Sol with LS tranny

those pistons will work fine. when they say for vtec i believe its about the size of the valve reliefs on the pistons with the vtec having larger valves. i used the rs machines itr pistons in a nonvtec b20 they were fine. if you go with anything bigger than like 404's you can clay the motor for peace of mind.
you really really really dont want to run that ls transmission. it will kill all the performance out of your setup. i know, ive done it. if you are concerned about highway driving you can use ls 5th gear or a longer 5th gear. just dont go ls 5th on b16 4th gear the rpm drop is too substantial. steepest drop i would do is b16 4th down to cable ls 5th which is .742

I actually found 2 b16a heads for $500 which I pick up tomorrow Ive been looking for a b16 tranny but they are few and far between around these parts New Brunswick Canada I will keep eyes open for one and I could throw the second head on the b18b and stick that engine in my hatch for the winters up here
