Default ls/vtec or crv/vtec ??

Which one is more reliable...ls/vtec or crv/vtec? I plan on building one this winter and I'm trying to decide which one to get. The price of the motors are about the same LS=$350, CRV=$500. I have a extra b16 with a bad piston so will be useing parts off that.

in the long run the crvtec set up will cost more. from my understanding, a little more needs to be done to the internals (valve reliefs/new pistons) to get it to properly work. as far as reliability goes, both can be reliable depending on who builds it and how well they can build it.

go with the crvtec - lsvtec is just a poorman's unreilable gsr.

b20vtec wouldbe definitely worth it.

reliability depends greatly on the quality of the engine builder...you get what you pay for...what about putting some money into the b16?

If you sleeve it, it won't matter.

get an LSVTEC with some good ol' OEM pistons (pr3, p30, pct). if you get the b20 plan on getting rods and pistons too cuz the stock CR just wont cut it, and thats gonna be more money. and if you're like most of us, you probably dont have the money to buy those right now, so I'd rebuild the b18a, and if i really really wanted 2.0 just save for sleeving + rod/piston combo later on.

goodluck
