Hello,

Having some trouble starting the 1999 Civic DX all of a sudden. The last few times I've driven the car the start up sequence seemed to be a little sluggish, but I attributed it to the chillier (-4 to 0 Celsius) weather.

The fuel pump appears to be working properly, as I can hear it priming as I turn the key to the "On" position. It cranks slowly as well but the engine never starts.

There is also a slow clicking sound coming from behind the glove box. Could it be a malfunctioning relay?

I hooked up another car to this one with jumpers, it sounded the same and didn't start up either. Any thoughts ?

 

Fits with bad battery and/or poor connections between battery connectors and posts. Have the battery load tested.

 

I always assume the worst. Cleaned the battery cable terminals and got a new battery, now it starts up real nice. Thanks for your help and patience RonJ!
