OMG, 2000 DVP Gsr!!
Hey everyone, it has been a very long time since I have posted here on HT.
To give you a little back story, I started with a 94 LS as my first car back in 2003. After several years, and saving up some money, I purchased a 96 Gsr. This car was a one owner, and was my baby. I drove the gsr from the time I was 19 until the age of 25. A little over a year ago, I was sitting in a parking lot, when a drunk driver hit me while I was parked. He was going 50+ and the posted speed in the area was 30. Obviously, my baby was damaged to the extent, that it would cost a fortune to repair her, so the insurance company totaled it. After I purchased the car back from insurance, and got my check for the cars value, I searched and searched for another gsr. I was finding Gsr's left and right, but couldn't find one that hadn't been molested or swapped. I eventually gave up my daily struggle of daily searching everywhere online in about a 300 mile radius. I caved in and bought a Nissan X-terra. I still have my X-terra, and love it to death, but it simply did not fill that hole in my heart, from my no longer gsr :-( . So about 6 months ago, I started searching daily again for a gsr. I was having better luck during this time, but I kept getting screwed over, and people sold the cars out from underneath me. Up until about a week ago, the search was getting very depressing, and I was thinking about stopping my search again.
That was until I found a majestic 2000 DVP Gsr staring me in the face on Craigslist!! I was lucky enough to contact the owner less than 1 hour of it being posted. We talked back and forth and set up a meeting date of today.
Even though the round trip totaled more than 9 hours, I didn't care.
I arrived at the meet up location that we agreed on, and my jaw almost dropped when I saw this car pull into the parking lot. Since I had never seen a DVP Gsr in person, I had no idea what the paint actually looked like. OH MY DEAR GOD!! I thought I literally saw a unicorn prance into the parking lot. This has got to be one of the most beautiful paint codes I have ever seen in my life. Not to mention that only a total of 500 were made, I was soooo happy to see that it had been left 100% stock and unmolested. The mileage is a bit high, but this thing came with all the service records from the time the first owner drove it off of the car lot.
I will get some photos and post tomorrow, but in the mean time, I'm going to get some rest, and keep trying to get it to process in my head that this isn't a dream!

No wrong with making the thread but unless there's a issue you need fixed or this is a build thread it might get locked or moved to the appearance and build thread. I'll find the link for you later but it would be great to add your car to that thread.
Also, I do plan on this being a build thread :-) I will post pictures when I start working on her a bit later today

When i had my leather interior in my GSR i always used mcguires leather seat wipes! they sell it at your local auto store, theres two kinds i like the one thats in the black tube and it has a fresher scent. it really works good on soaking in the leather and giving it moisture that lasts as well as the scent! its very pleasent.
Well, Here we go. First set of images. I already got the decals off, but it was dark outside so I was unable to take pictures without the decals

Congrats on your pick up man, I have a 2000 dvp that I recently picked up as well, I've been sick so it's been sitting in the garage but, same story all the records since day 1, hasn't even hit 100k. Get that paint polished and sealed, that color is awesome.
Here are some more pics from today. I got the rest of the adhesive from the decals off, and ran her through the car wash.. After that I replaced the air filter that for some reason had been in there since 2002 lol.. After that, I gave her some new NGK plugs. As you can see from one of the pictures, the cylinder 1 spark plug gasket has gone bad. Going to go ahead and replace all four of those, and the valve cover gasket while I have the valve cover off tomorrow.
No more decals or adhesive

Shes got a nice butt

Bad spark plug gasket above cylinder 1

Quick little engine bay shot

Filter from 2002 lol

Haha no judgment on my end dude I have a beard as well lol people look at me crazy lmao I've been sick for a few months and my hair and beard are out of control right now. Probably doesn't help that I have a Frankenstein mask on the passenger headrest that's a little to realistic lol. I'll post some pics of my car tomorrow. Your paint actually looks better than mine lol I need to get a good polish/wax.
Edit: car looks good btw.

Sweet find bro! Welcome to the DVP GSR club if that exists haha. I too found my DVP GSR about 3 years ago, the owner had a jdm front on it and I fell in love even more to it. Unfortunately it's been in an accident, I haven't had the time to color match the entire car, about 80% is freshly painted, the other 20% remains sunfaded from previous owner.
