Armrest bracket trouble
It's for a '96 Civic CX hatchback.
I found a Type F Excel Charcoal armrest off of a wrecked EX sedan and also grabbed the bracket as well to secure the rear part of the center console.
I'm having trouble lining up the holes when tightening them down. Whenever I tighten them, the washer does not sit flush with the bolt so no matter what I can't get it secured to the chassis and tightened up. I refrained from attempting it further because I don't want to risk cross-threading the holes either.
Any tips? I've already cut up small slits in the carpet to make it easier to line the armrest and the e-brake bracket up so I can secure it, but with no luck.
